• What exactly is GritCMS?

  It is one platform that runs the selling side of a small business: your website and blog, your contacts, your email, your courses and products, your bookings, and the automation that ties them together. Instead of paying for six tools and copying information between them, you get one login where a new contact, a sale and a follow-up are all part of the same record.

• Who is it for?

  Creators, coaches, consultants, training schools, churches and NGOs, boutiques and service businesses — anyone who sells something and needs to stay in touch with the people who buy. It suits businesses from one person up to a small team. If you already have a full engineering department and custom systems, you probably do not need us.

• Do I need a website already?

  No. Every workspace comes with a public website you build by dragging ready-made sections into place, plus a blog. If you already have a website you love, you can keep it and use GritCMS for contacts, email, courses and payments — or point your existing domain at the new one when you are ready.

• Can I sell in shillings and in dollars?

  Yes. Prices can be shown and charged in UGX for local customers and in USD for international ones, from the same product. Your orders list shows both, so you always know what came in and in which currency.

• How do payments work?

  Mobile money — MTN and Airtel — runs through DGateway, and card payments run through Stripe for Visa and Mastercard. You connect your own accounts under Settings → Payments, and we do it with you during setup. Money settles directly to you: GritCMS never holds it, it only records the order and unlocks whatever the customer bought.

• Is my data mine?

  Yes. Your contacts, content, courses and orders belong to you, and you can export them to CSV or Excel at any time from inside the admin. If you ever leave, you take everything with you.

• Can I import the contacts I already have?

  Yes. Upload a CSV or Excel file and the importer matches your columns to the right fields, so a list you have been keeping in a spreadsheet or in your phone becomes a proper contact database. If your list is messy, send it to us during setup and we will clean it up with you.

• What happens after the free month?

  You choose a plan and pay monthly by mobile money or card. Plans start at $0 a month, about 0 UGX. Nothing is charged automatically during the free month — there is no card on file to charge — so if you decide it is not for you, the workspace simply pauses and your data stays available for export.

• What if I go over my storage or email allowance?

  Nothing switches off. Every plan comes with an amount of storage for your videos, images and files, and a number of marketing emails a month — 3 GB and 2,500 emails on Starter, 4.5 GB and 10,000 on Pro, 6 GB and 30,000 on Scale. If you use more, the extra is simply added to your next monthly invoice: $0.20 (about 760 UGX) for each additional GB of storage, and $0.50 (about 1,900 UGX) for every additional 1,000 marketing emails. Receipts, password resets and team invites are transactional email and are never counted, so a busy sales week never risks a customer missing their receipt.

• Will you help me set it up?

  Yes, and this is the part most people care about. We create the workspace, connect your domain and payment accounts, import your contacts and walk you through the first campaign. Onboarding is done over WhatsApp or a call, in the same week you sign up.

• Can my team use it too?

  Yes. Team members are unlimited on every paid plan, each with their own login. On the higher plans you can control what each person is allowed to see and do, so a marketing assistant can send campaigns without also seeing your revenue.
