What you get

What one good PDF keeps doing

Anonymous traffic becomes a list

Ninety-something people out of a hundred leave a website without doing anything. A guide worth having is the reason a few of them tell you who they are first.

The download tells you what they want

Someone who takes the pricing checklist is at a different point from someone who takes the beginner's guide. Each download tags the contact, so the follow-up already knows the topic.

Written once, working for years

One good PDF collects contacts every week without further effort. Compare that with a post that gets attention for an afternoon and then falls off the feed.

Delivery and follow-up run themselves

The file arrives in seconds, and the short sequence that follows a few days later can be the thing that turns a downloader into a customer while you were doing something else.

How it works

Making a guide people want

  1. Solve one real problem

A checklist, a price range, a template, a plain-English explanation of something people find confusing. Six honest pages beat a forty-page ebook nobody opens.

  2. Upload it and set the form

Ask for as little as you can live with — name and email is usually the right trade. Every extra field costs you downloads.

  3. Put it where the traffic is

At the end of a related article, on a funnel page, in your bio link, or in a WhatsApp reply to somebody who just asked that exact question.

  4. Follow up while it is fresh

The guide goes out at once, then a short sequence checks whether it helped and offers the next step. The days right after the download are the warmest they will ever be.

In practice

Guides people actually download

  • An architect

    A realistic build-cost checklist for a three-bedroom house.

  • A nutritionist

A seven-day meal plan using ingredients from the local market.

  • An accountant

A plain-English calendar of the year's tax filing deadlines.

Questions

Guides, answered

The things people ask us before they move their business across.

  • Specific beats impressive. “What a borehole really costs in 2026” gets downloaded; “A guide to water solutions” does not. Answer the question your customers ask before they ever ask about price.

  • Most will, if the guide is clearly worth it and you say plainly what you will send them afterwards. Because the file is delivered by email, a fake address means no download — which filters itself.

  • Download links can be set to expire, so the file is not endlessly forwardable. Honestly though, a shared guide is free advertising — the cover carries your name and the link back to you.

  • That is exactly what this is. The guide costs nothing; the price is the email address and permission to write to them. Charging a small fee instead is also possible if you would rather.

  • They become a contact tagged with that guide, they get the file immediately, and any sequence you attached starts running. From then on they are a person you can segment, write to and follow up.
